We absolutely loved our time in Ponta, we made regular use of the boat and Jhonny was a superb guide, Ponta will be missed we cannot wait to make our next booking

What an awesome place to stay. The best holiday spot, I have ever visited. A Big bonus, is the friendly staff. Johnny and Veronica, you guys are the best!!

Loved it thanks will definitely be back. Mel was superb as were Johnnie and Veronica. We really enjoyed and used Tabasco every day - islands were spectacular we were very lucky and had great weather which makes a beach holiday so much better.

We had a wonderful trip thanks to the info provided by the owner before we left and then the superb support and service of Veronica and Johnny.

Both could not have been more helpful and truly made our stay special and memorable. More than helpful, both are extremely thoughtful and took the initiative to help us with our plans, plus anticipated possible problems that might arise (e.g. our trip to buy fabric in the local market - Jeannie is a designer) so we could avoid them. They are absolute gems and the owner of Villa Ponta is blessed to have the level of support and oversight of his home.

This was our second trip to Villa Ponta – so that says a lot and I’m sure it will not be our last, I have recommended it to many friends and family. The staff Johnnie and Veronica make this a real holiday – they are truly unbelievable, nothing is too much for them, they are happy, committed, grateful and humble. True hosts.

Mel is also brilliant from answering questions in LONG emails before we left to organizing a Chef and sorting out all our grocery deliveries we could not have done it without Mel. Self-catering for 10 days in a foreign venue has its challenges but Mel will help you with this, so don’t let it put you off. I highly recommend hiring a Chef and the next time we go we will rely more on local food, we ordered in through CaterKing but the quality, affordability and availability of seafood meant we really didn’t need all the meat we had ordered.

I would also recommend using the boat Tabasco and a skipper from Big Blue, our skipper Cremaldo was another great find, he was knowledgeable, reliable, skillful and lots of fun. We went out to a different island every day for 9 days in a row! The islands are so spectacular you just have to spend the days swimming, snorkelling, fishing, walking and sun tanning.

The snorkelling was all excellent but on one particularly clear day the Fishbowl at 2 Mile Reef was so perfect it was like being in an aquarium. At the end of the day there was no better place to be than on the deck of Villa Ponta – Praise our chef cooked spring rolls, prawn rissoles and samoosas which were washed down with a cold beer or a gin cocktail. Paradise!

Four days are definitely too short to enjoy Villa Ponta!! We will certainly come back this Winter. I’ve already given the details to friends of mine. It was wonderful!

We had extremely high expectations of Villa Ponta as we have been to a few Perfect Hideaway properties and they are always of such a high standard - Villa Ponta did not disappoint. It wasn’t your typical “white washed” beach house but something altogether better, the owners have cleverly mixed in African arts, crafts and furniture without overdoing it and ensuring that they are absolutely beautiful, individual pieces. The house is beautifully laid out with a gorgeous, huge patio which has incredible views out to the islands.

The lovely furniture continues outside and we spent our evenings very comfortable playing cards and scrabble outside. The common areas have enormous sliding doors out onto the patio which enhances the indoor/outdoor feel of the property.

All of the bedroom and bathroom have their own individual style and exude quality and a sense of luxury. The open plan kitchen is extremely well equipped, we found everything we could possibly have needed and more, including the most enormous safe. The garden area is absolutely magical. I loved the area leading up to the front door which is beautifully laid out and became my “chill out” area when I needed 5 minutes to myself, having said this the garden is full of dozens of these kinds of areas so there are plenty to choose from. Whilst the house is absolutely gorgeous, what made our time there so special was definitely the presence of Johnny and Veronica. I really can’t rave about them enough! They were so friendly and helpful without being “in your face”.

Nothing was too much trouble for them. After our arrival Johnny took my partner shopping in town then came home and prepared our fish, it was only then that we realised that he was meant to be off duty at 4:00, it was by then around 7:00. We felt terrible but Johnny would have none of it, insisting that he wanted to make our time there as special as possible. The following day we had a fantastic trip out to the sand island on the Dhow, once again Johnny was an absolute star answering questions and just being a complete joy to have around. Veronica had meantime reorganised the chaos that comes with 4 adults and 2 teens (I am hoping that this isn’t just my family) and when we got back calm once again prevailed at Villa Ponta.

Veronica has a lovely quiet way about her, she seems to invisibly move around the house adding lovely touches, such as flowers, laying the table beautifully for each and every meal. These two individual are a complete asset to the property and keep it in pristine condition. Please could you send our regards and thanks to them for making our stay so perfect.
